Big Match Preview: Arsenal vs Liverpool at the Emirates 19 Aug 2011

Arsenal welcoming Liverpool to the Emirates tonight for the matchday number 2 in 2011-12 Premier League season. Both sides have just gathered 1 point so far, after their draws last weekend. Arsenal's vs Newcastle was ended goaless, while Liverpool's against Sunderland was ended 1-1.

With Jack Wilshere is injured, Abou Diaby is still out, Johan Djourou still not recovered from his hamstring injury, and several other names. Obviously, Wenger will rest them in this match. Besides that, Alex Song and Gervinho are out for suspended, following the incident on the game against Newcastle last week.

In the last seven matches between the two side, Arsenal are in a better side. So this time, the battle between the two side, Arsenal vs Liverpool at the Emirates, hopefully will as interesting as before.

Those condition shown above, indicating that Arsenal have serious concerns at the back and in midfield. Probable line up for Arsenal’s defensive line could be filled with Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, and Jenkinson.

In the central area, Andrei Arshavin could fill in at central attacking midfield, and he could work well with Robin van Persie to set up Arsenal’s attacking strategy. Wenger stated that he still needs Samir Nasri in the line up, even though his transfer issue to Manchester City is acclaimed to be settled. Another player who is expected to play in this game is Theo Walcott, as usual, he will start on the right wing.

Different with Arsenal’s side, Liverpool have no new injury concerns. As Steven Gerrard continues to recover and Glen Johnson faces still suffer from a hamstring injury, and Fabio Aurelio also still suffers from another injury set-back, but Daniel Agger will shake off a dead leg sustained during this season’s opener.

In the midfield and offence line, Liverpool will expect another charming performance from Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez, and Andy Carroll who is still goalless so far. Dirk Kuyt will be looking to make it his 50th goal for Liverpool tomorrow. Elsewhere, Andy Carroll will be in line for his 100th league career appearance.

According to current situation, Liverpool would seems to be the better side, but, regarding the venue, Arsenal vs Liverpool game in matchday number 2 19 August 2011 will be tight for both side, and draw will be fair enough.
