manchester united vs tottenham hotspurs preview aug 23, 2011 at the old trafford

With the game ahead against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United had to lose some senior players, especially at the back.

Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, and Rafael certainly absent. Michael Owen and Javier Hernandez could not sharpen the front-line Red Devils. Manchester United seems to give an opportunity for their young player to shown their capability.

Jonny Evans and Phil Jones will be given the opportunity to play at the central of defense, with Chris Smalling, who played very good in his last two games, and Fabio as a wing back.

Past record of the meeting between Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspurs, Fergie is not supposed to be worry. It's been already 10 years Spurs never win over Man. United. The last they win, was occurred May 19, 2001 and it wasn't happen at the old trafford. And it also happened because Fergie is no longer insisted on because of Man. United are champions.

The other issue about this game is about MU's new goalkeeper, David De Gea. The blunder he did when Manchester United against Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion, giving him a great pressure.

Fortunately, ahead of the game between Manchester United against Tottenham on Tuesday (8/23/2011) early morning at local time, the goalkeeper still had the support of Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson still believes that the ability of his 20 years old goalkeeper.

This game could be tight. But, if MU player, especially their young player could playing without pressure, i bet MU will be the winner at this game, with a tight score, 2-1 or 1-0.
